Why does computer sign off so quickly?

I leave the room for a couple of minutes and computer turns self off. How d O set it to stay on? Thanks,

It shouldn't turn off , so do you mean it goes into Screen Saver , Standby Modes or Turns off Monitor.

Right click on blank area of Desktop & select Properties , "Screen Saver" tab  , check  "Wait  x  minutes"  & un-tick "On resume"  unless you want it to show  the a Logon screen upon Resume.

Then click "Power" button & check "When computer is ..." settings , I have mine set to "never".

Check to see that the heat sink is secure on the processor. The plastic clips used to hold it on have a habit of breaking off. If not, you may have a virus (blaster) or some thing like that.
