Win XP

:robottongue: Good evening to all. My son wants me to format his hardrive and reinstall everything fresh so he can sell it. The problem is that he cannot find the Win Xp reinstallation CD that came with the laptop. His fiancee' told me that her mother had the same problem and she was able to download it at Dell. Is this true or false. Please assist. I have a cd but it is older that what is on the laptop.
Thanks

Thanks Rick. That is what  I thought. But there is no telling her anything. Have a good evening.

    It's false.  Never been downloadable.

What's installed on the notebook is irrelevant.  If you have a DELL OEM XP CD, you can use that then update it with Windows Update, or you can create a slipstreamed CD (directions all over the web).
