Windows 11 available now

For those of us that are eager to download and clean install Windows 11 the download page is available now at this Microsoft site. And this YouTube video has more information on the download site and which download to choose (there are 3 options).

Well you were correct about the .iso availability..  If you download the .iso directly you will get one with an install.wim which is too large for a FAT32 formatted flash drive.

If you have a newer system, you may be able to boot to a NTFS formatted drive which will hold the entire 4.6 GB install.wim file.

The MCT will supply an install.esd, which is smaller and will work with a FAT32 drive.  It appears it actually downloads an install.wim and compresses it to an install.esd after the download.

So far I have installed it on one 7th Gen processor system.  I will have to wait to see if updates and other operations are normal..

I just got an update, KB5006674, on my unqualified 7th Gen system.  So all is well, for now.

I saw that on a YouTube video and it makes me wonder. After all the talk from MS about non-compatible systems are they going to be making all updates available for the time being and how long will that continue. And Dell's statement still stands regarding Dell tested compatible systems. So this may be a short lived situation.
