Reboot and see if the message goes away. You might have a bad boot that can be cured by rebooting. Make sure you are shutting down completely and not entering Standby or Hibernation. If it still occurs you can check the BIOS (Setup) to see if the drives are recognized.

Hi
If the restart does not work you can ask your questions on the CD\DVD
forum for your computer yes there is a REGEDIT the people on that forum will
give you the links to help you get your drives working again !
The only time my drives would not work  i installed burning software
that was not Vista ready and it took the drives out i had to remove the software and
find one that would work with my PC!
