Windows Problems

Hi, I have an Dell XPS 8700SE that was bought with Windows 8. Before I could easily upgrade to Windows 8.1 with no issue. But an incident happend causing me to have to replace my motherboard. After I got my mother board replaced, I had to reinstall windows. Now when I try to download Windows 8.1, I get this SPP error on Event Viewer: "Installation of the Proof of Purchase from the ACPI table failed. Error code: 0xC004F057" The Source of this is from Security-SPP by Microsoft. . Also I can't refresh, or reset my PC. Its says it's activated and everything. I really want Windows 8.1. is there any Windows 8.1 recovery media utilities out there. If not, is there away I can download it and install it to my Hard Drive?

Also, this error does not show up on Windows 8.

Thanks,

Shane

Seems there is an issue with Windows 8.1 installer and the product key present in the UEFI firmware. However, the product key is genuine and is validated by Windows 8, which works good.

I suggest you to post this query here:
