Windows restarting randomly

every once in a while i will get this message from windows that says:

Windows needs to restart now, please save any unsaved information. This was executed by NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM

countdown:

message:

The Remote Procedure Call (RPC) terminated suddenly.

thats basicly what it said. i have no idea why its doing it. i just recently reinstalled windows because of a bad trojan that messed up my windows file. i reinstall windows and kept all the files on my computer, but i had to reinstall all my sound card, vid card, net card, and other programs on my computer. im not sure how to fix this, any ideas?

Have you installed all Windows Critical Updates?  Are your virus definitions up to date?  Which antivirus software are you running?  Are you running a firewall?

Disconnect from the internet and enable the Windows XP firewall.  Then reboot, connect to the internet and try running antivirus software and Windows Critical updates.

Unplug the cable that connects you to the LAN.  Did you enable the firewall?
