Windows XP
I have received the blue error screen with the following msg;
Stop: 0x0000007E (0x0000005,0xED7C04D0, 0xF894CFEC, 0XF894CCEC)
Nothing else, so not a hardware problem from what I know. Booted to "safe mode", but unable to restore to a previous point!
This whole problem showed up when I attempted to download Microsoft Anti-Spy Beta, but received an error message that I needed SP2, which I do not have.
Anyone know what my next step should be?
If I need to get SP2, where can I find, since my problem computer can't connect to internet in "safe mode"!
I don't want to loose my downloaded pictures, and I can't move them in safe mode because CD writer won't work in that mode.

Have you tried doing a system restore ? When in safe mode you will get a prompt as you get to the desktop.On the prompt click no and the system restore window will open. Follow the on screen instructions and select a date when your system was working ok (preferably within a week). Let me know how it goes.
Thanx

Do you have your XP Home CD? If so try to do a repair install over your existing Windows. This is done by booting to the XP CD. You will not loose your data this way and any corrupted system files will be replaced.
