Word docs showing as Notepad
I uninstalled Wordperfect that came with my compputer and now any Word document appears as a Notepad and my Excel files do not show as Excel. Anyone know how this happened or how I can make the files appear as they should?

If you are talking about the icon that appears next to the file name you can change that by opening Windows Explorer and going to Tools|Folder Options|File Types tab. Find the file names of interest, click on the Advanced button, then on the dialog that opens select "Change icon" and browse to the new icon. On my system the Word icons are located at C:\WINDOWS\Installer\{91130409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0050048383C9}\wordicon.exe and the Excel icons at C:\WINDOWS\Installer\{91130409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0050048383C9}\xlicons.exe.

I think I got it changed, thanks. I right clicked on the file, went to Properties and then told it to open with Word.
