I have Windows XP...but in the last 2 weeks, I cannot sign on to it o my home computer. I get the message "We were not able to sign you in. There may be a problem with our service, or your internet connection".
I can't even get into Hotmail or msn.com, using the regular Internet Explorer, and I cannot sign in at all to Messenger. However, I can get into Hotmail and MSN on my computer at work, with no problems.
I just installed XP Pro from the original CD and found that I did not have a number of required drivers, including the network driver. This may be your problem
Sounds like you might have caught a trojan or worm that has corrupted yout IP stack. Take a look at the information Dell has for issues like this and see if any of them help...
