Here's the link to Winzip   Click Me

Cut the all capitals, it is considered shouting and a no-no on this fourm.  All capitals is also harder to read.

" HOW CAN I REINSTALL WINDOWS ZIP EXTRACTOR?
MY PC IS XP HOME 2002. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

A little more info on what you did to remove/disable it?

If it is just a zip file association problem, get the "zip" registry fix here

Hi Platinum,
Some time after reformatting my hard drive,  I've noticed that my XP extractor is no longer
available. Unfortunately my 30 days software support with Dell had expired.
I used Search with a few keywords including Zip, that produced the following zipped folder,
zipfldr.dll C:\WINDOWS\sistem32  330 KB, type Application Extension 8/4/2004
Please don't hesitate to ask for any other info that you think might be helpful.
Thanks and best regards,

Sorry, I posted the Vista file association fix, here is the page for XP file association registry fixes, choose zip at the bottom of the list, see if this remedy's the problem.

No problem, thanks for trying to help! I've copied to desk top, and got confirmation of having been successfully added to the Registry, but how is one supposed to access the software? (I understand that this is a Registry file) I presume, I could ask the Author; do you know by any chance?

Thanks for trying to help! I'm attempting to retrieve the original Zip extractor as it was fine since 2004. I lost it, following a hard drive reformat.

XP has a zip extractor built in, not sure how you lose that. It is usually a file association that gets changed for .zip files.

I can assure you I'm just as puzzled! I also miss the association
between My Documents and My Pictures,  what's the fix for that?
By the way, if Zip extractors cannot be lost, why would there be a fix?
