Unable to SSH or Browse

Good morning, I have a wyse Terminal T50 which uses Ubuntu Linux. I was not able to configure the interface using dhcp, but I was able to set static IP address. I am able to ping from the T50 out and from otgher server to the T50. however when I try to ssh in/out there is not communication, it times out.
I tried using the chromium browser and the same issue, I am not able to browse.
if I ping any external webpage like google.com I am able to ping and also I am able get the IP address from google.
Can anyone suggest if there is any type of firewall build with this T50 devices and how to configure to allow traffic. or if anyone ran into the same problem, please advice.
