Wyse 5070 ThinClient (no extended version) - ThinOS Boot speed

Hi there!

First things first, I'm new here and I would like to thank everyone who's involved in getting this community up.

The reason I'm starting a new discussion is obvious. We've got a bunch of Wyse 5070 ThinClients, and all of them are running ThinOS.

Unfortunately though, ThinOS is booting up really slowly and not even indicating a boot attempt, and therefore, most of the employees are not aware of their machines booting up or not. Some of the machines got corrupt ThinOS installations, as our employees are pressing the power button of the ThinClient multiple times in hopes to get them booted up faster. I'd really like to know whether it's possible to "add" a "loading.." screen after the machines are POSTing. (after the Dell logo shows up)

This would be very convenient and useful. I guess it's not hard for Dell to implement such a new function in their ThinOS operating system. Oh and yeah, I've tried all boot modes available in the BIOS (Minimal, Thorough and Auto), but it's obvious that this is not related to the BIOS POSTing itself, it's most likely related to the OS as there's no logo or loading screen showing up, which'll indicate the boot process. An implementation such as the Windows boot logo would be great.

Thanks!

Regards,

Emre

ThinOS 2306 (posting today) has made just such an adjustment, based on customer feedback.   Please update the BIOS on the 5070 and ThinOS version to the latest available after 2306 has posted.

Hi! Thank you for answering. It hasn't been posted yesterday so I'm guessing that it's scheduled for today?

Seeing anything unforeseen, I would expect to see it by 7/1.
