File transfer speed is at it was before after the SSD upgrade

Dell G3 3579

I inserted a new SATA SSD after replacing the HDD. However, the file transfer speed has not increased. Could this be due to the SATA III interface cable that was just plugged in above the SSD? My Dell G3 15 - 2019 model already has a separate 128 GB NVMe chip to speed up the reboot process, in addition to the HDD (now replaced with SSD). Please advise on how to increase the file transfer speed now. I am willing to replace the SATA III interface cable if you suggest doing so.

1. Replace the small 128 GB NVMe with a larger capacity (between 512 GB to 1 TB) and making it the main boot drive (preferably a clean Windows installation).  You can expect new NVMe SSD performance speed up to 3500 MB/s.

2. Disengaged the cache function from Intel RST and set SATA operation mode to AHCI (in BIOS).  You can expect your 2.5" SATA SSD performance speed up to 560 MB/s.
