Intel Rapid Storage application not configuring RAID0 setup correctly

I am trying to install two 4TB NVMe drives (Samsung 990 Pro) in my Dell XPS 9720 laptop in a RAID0 configuration.  First, I can't find any way to configure the RAID0 in the BIOS.  Shift-I doesn't work, apparently because I'm in UEFI boot mode.   The BIOS screen says that Legacy mode is not available on this platform which is too bad because this would be my preferred method of creating the array.So, while in RAID mode I install Windows on the first drive.  Once it's installed I install the Intel Rapid Storage drivers and application which I got from the Dell site (19.5.1.1040_A02_04).  I start the application and create a RAID0 array with both drives.  It chugs away for a while and finishes.  Or at least the progress indicator gets to 100% and goes away.  There's no message indicating it's complete or that there were errors.  Everything looks fine but drive C: still shows as half the expected space.  So I reboot, thinking that will clear things up. Instead I get a very tiny screen that says it can't boot.  I can't seem to upload a photo for some reason so here's the text: Windows failed to start.  A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.  To fix the problem: 1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer 2. Choose your language settings, and then click 'Next.' 3. Click 'Repair your computer.' File: \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD Status: 0xc0000225 Info: The Boot Configuration Data for your PC is missing or contains errors

The Specifications of the XPS 17 9720 do not indicate RAID 0 or RAID 1 support.

If the BIOS does support RAID, the RAID configuration is accessed from the F12 1-time boot menu (See the article below) on the "Newer computers that are sold with Windows 8/10/11 installed on UEFI" Internal article tab.
