Remove Dell XPS 15 Sticker

Question

I have a brand new Dell XPS 15 9510.  I wish I could've asked not to put the Intel Core sticker on the palmrest.  I have taken stickers off of other laptops, but they had harder palmrest material that was not prone to scratching or damage.  The XPS palmrest feels soft and I'm worried that I would damage it with my finger nail or a hair dryer or whatever trying to get the sticker off.  Is it worth the risk (i.e. leave it on or take it off) and, if so, what is the best method to do it without damage.  Thanks.

This forum post may help. But if you are concerned about palmrest damage, leave the sticker for now. In time the sticker will loosen some and become easier to remove. Personally I would leave it since I am very prone to being clumsy and just know I would mess up the palmrest somehow.

Only you can evaluate the risk, but the least risky way is to let a few drops of vegetable (olive, canola, etc) oil soak underneath. It should loosen the adhesive without damaging the surface underneath.

Anything you pry or scrape with, and any solvent will almost certainly leave visible traces.

I hate stickers, and I too wanted to get rid of it as soon as I opened my brand new 9310. And so I did. I was a little worried at first, just like you said the carbon fibre finish feels soft compared to the usual hard metal or plastic palmrest, but it was much easier than I anticipated! I simply used my index nail, I keep super short nails so it felt a little stinging when I finally managed to put my nail half a millimetre underneath one of the bottom corners. And that was it, it peeled off without leaving any trace at all. I didn't have to clean up any glue residue of any sort. Personally I wouldn't delay removing it, as stickers' glue tends to become nasty after a bit, probably due to the heating up / cooling down cycles it is inevitably subjected to.

Same here, I hate the stickers. I had no problem peeling off the i9 processor sticker from the palm rest of my 9510 with my finger nail, no marks or scratches. Make sure its warmish, not cold.

Why can't Dell remove this sticker. Internet is full of user complaints that the sticker is peeling off. OR why can't Dell make XPS 15 look like New XPS 13 Plus? They should have launched New XPS 15 Plus, in-stead of New XPS 15 with 12th Gen Intel processors.

This FAKE Carbon Fiber sticker is the ONLY reason I have not purchased XPS 15 yet.

Same here, I just removed the sticker from my brand new Del XPS 15 9530, I was also worried at first but thanks to this thread on this forum I decided to give it a try, and it was as smooth as described by other users. It is a thick sticker so it feels harder to remove than it is, but as soon as I managed to slip my short nail under it fell off like there was almost no glue and it left no residue whatsoever.
