WD19TB, non-Dell PCs, multiple issues
Hello! I've been using the WD19TB docking station for several months now and I have a few issues with it that have become too annoying and I want to resolve them or return the dock .
I'm using the dock with two laptops interchangeably, neither of which is Dell. The dock's firmware is updated to the latest version, both laptops run Windows 11 and both have all the drivers from the dock support page installed. One laptop has Thunderbolt 4 and one has Thunderbolt 3.
Devices connected to the dock: 4K 60Hz display to the Type-C DP port, a keyboard and a mouse to the USB ports, speakers to the back 3.5mm jack and a headphone/microphone combo to the front 3.5mm jack.
Issue number 1 = The dock would occasionally "crash" when connected to the TB4 laptop. By crash, I mean all the connected devices would power off and the display would lose it's picture. The display always comes back but the USB devices occasionally don't so I need to power cycle the dock. I haven't noticed the pattern by which this is happening, it seems completely random.
Issue number 2 = The display connected to the dock will, more often than not, get no signal from the dock after the TB4 laptop is rebooted. Solution is to disconnect/reconnect the dock or power cycle it. The display is, however, recognized and shown in Windows during that state, it just gets no signal. Tested with all 3 DP ports and 2 different displays.
I haven't observed either of the above issues with the TB3 laptop.
Issue number 3 = The one that I would really like to resolve is with the dock's front combo audio jack. This one is the same with both laptops. It only shows the headphones connected, the microphone does not appear. If I go to the device manager and delete the official driver the microphone and headphones will be correctly recognized by the OS and they will be working. In that situation the headphones volume will be very low even when set to 100%. If I install the driver again, microphone is gone. And I cannot configure the driver to know how to use the front jack. I tried installing the MaxxAudioPro version 4.0.22.0 (even though it is not on the official software/drivers page), however it does not want to work; it just shows "Audio driver is not up to date, please check for windows update." and appears as a blank white window. So,If I have the driver installed, I cannot use the microphone and if I remove it I cannot use the headphones.
Are any of the above issues known and with either known fixes or fixes in the works?
