XPS 13 9315 Screen Flickering Issue

XPS 13 9315

XPS 13 9315

Hi,

Today I noticed that sometimes the screen on my computer is flickering when there is a static image on the screen, particularly on the bottom parts of the screen. (Close to the Windows taskbar) The flickering goes away when the screen content is continuously changing (e.g. moving the mouse / video playing).

So, I thought this might be an issue regarding the software. (Which on the other hand I don't have any idea that, this might also be a hardware malfunction) Here's why I think so:

1. The flickering is not present when the screen is dynamically working.

2. Windows Update just downloaded and installed a new update for the display driver.

I looked if I could remove the update so that I can see if this is software or hardware related but there is no option in Windows Update to remove. The name of the update is "Intel Corporation - Display - 31.0.101.4146"

I wonder if anyone is having this issue too and is there a way that I can solve this issue with the minimum effort.

Thanks in advance...

Hey there, I have face this same issue before and my fix was a weird one.

For some reason the drivers Dell provides through the update tool and the Windows ones are different (windows ones being slightly older). Maybe try switching and let me know if that works. It did work for me.

Another thing I did, which isn't a recommended solution is to pause the updates for it once it is stable and non-flickering and then apply updates monthly.

 altayaydin,

To receive assistance from Dell support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Click the "Get help now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. Provide to them the private Service Tag and all of your troubleshooting.

Well Screen flickering in Windows  is usually caused by a display driver issue or incompatible app. To determine whether a display driver or app is causing the problem, Check for any recent app you install in your system can also cause this issue.

Tried closing any apps that I am using but nothing changed. Even tried uninstalling some of them (3rd parties I installed later) but still the problem continues.

The only thing I think on the driver side is the latest update my computer has done, which I mentioned before.

I really don't know what to do in this case or how to uninstall the update. In need of immediate help right now.

Anyone who has suggestions to do, please...

Have exactly same issue. Tried reinstall all gpu and monitor drivers and turn off PSR but nothing helped. Display doesn't flicker in movies or in safemode of windows. Only in static. Even if I just move mouse  - it doesn`t flicker. HELP)

looks like I finally won in this challenge. It tooks almost a month after reinstalling windows when issue came=)

I deinstalled all drivers with freeware software display driver uninstaller in safemode, then reboot laptop. Windows 11 installed driver by itself 31.0.101.4953 and install intel graphic command center, I turned off PSR and then it works finally normal.
