Use the cluster's PSNT (Part Serial Number), BBU index, and BBU name found in the Technician Advisor to start the replacement process on the affected BBU.
2. Check BBU Charge:
Ensure the BBU is sufficiently charged (80% or more and charging) before initiating the replacement.
3. Physical Replacement:
Remove Bezel: If present, remove the BBU bezel.
Power Down (if necessary): If the BBU is still powered on, disconnect its power cable and press the power button to shut it down.
Disconnect Cables: Disconnect all power and communication cables from the BBU.
Remove and Transfer Rails: Note the position of the inner rails on the defective BBU and transfer them to the new BBU.
Install New BBU: Slide the new BBU onto the rails.
Secure and Connect: Align the bezel clips, secure the BBU to the rack, and connect the power and communication cables.
4. Update Information Base (IB):
Remove the old BBU's serial number from the IB and add the new BBU's serial number.
5. Final Steps:
Collect Logs: Collect a log file bundle from the cluster and the FUR report from the Technician Advisor.
Attach Assets: Attach all assets to the service request for record-keeping.
