Aurora R11, no video, #2
I just received my Aurora R11. I am experiencing symptoms similar to this post.
The computer starts up, but I get no video feed. I've tried both Display Port and HDMI cables to a variety of monitors. Through my headset, which is attached to the computer, I am able to occasionally hear the Cortana set up prompts.
Following the advice of that post, I have removed and remounted the graphics card, in both the top and bottom locations, with no change in behavior. I have taken the graphics card from this new machine and installed it in my old machine, and that computer seems to experience similar issues on start up with the graphics card. Unfortunately, the graphics card of my old machine does not fit into the box of the Aurora R11, or I would try to start up with that card.
Given everything that I have tried, it appears to be an issue with the graphics card, and I'll have to wait for a response from support to attempt to get it replaced. Are there any other potential solutions?
It's an Nvidia 660. I'm able to boot the machine completely using that graphics card. I started up the system with both cards plugged in but only the 660 is recognized in the Device manager. I installed the latest driver for the 2080 and rebooted with no change. I went into the pre-boot Diagnostics and performed a scan that detected no issues. I'm becoming increasingly certain that my machine was shipped with a dead graphics card.
If you have the 1000w psu option, you could try using a different cable to power the gpu, could be a power issue, cable or psu issue. The 1000w psu option is used for SLI and the unused power cable for a second gpu will be tucked behind the psu in the metal swing arm box.
The only location that is used is the bottom one that has the video card. The upper integrated video connections are not used and don't work when you have a separate card. You might need to check your video card's manual for more instructions or support will help you on Monday.

Managed to find an old video card I had lying around and swap it in, the behavior appears to be the same. So perhaps it is not a graphics card issue?
