Aurora R13, getting XMP memory?

it's been a point of discussion before and support confirmed no XMP support! But then they announced on Twitter that there would be XMP support for Kingston Fury.  So they actually can support XMP?

    Sure looks that way...fingers crossed that they do finally unlock XMP on the R13. @DELL-Chris M can you please pass on any more details on this as you become aware of them, please? Thanks!

    I just checked the Dell internal Aurora R13 parts page. There is no reference to Kingston Fury memory. It still only shows the three memory sticks that I showed to all in the FAQ Aurora R13.

    Maximum memory configuration = 128GB

    @DELL-Chris M   I just found the announcement on twitch https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1531687824 ( around minute 11) they said they will start making it available as of july 19th

    Really, really, really hoping that this is the RAM that gets certified and offered for our R13s. Overclockable up to 6000 (if system BIOS allows): Kingston Fury Beast RGB DDR5 RAM XMP 3.0 compatible and maybe have the overclocking and RGB lighting controllable in AWCC. That'd be sweet.

    DDR5 6000 MHz at CL-40 has a slower absolute latency than DDR4 3200 MHz at CL-16.

    Alienware had a bad track record when it comes to supporting xmp for intel chips. r12 and r11 didn't support beyond 3200mhz even when ddr4 had ram released in the 4000ish speed so i doubt we'll see much support beyond what they are planning to sell

    This is true but there is still roughly a 4-5% performance increase with DDR5 vs DDR4. DDR5's higher speeds vs DDR4 offset, to a certain extent, it's higher latency numbers. And performance differences are also very much app/game dependent. Overall, the performance advantage of DDR5 vs DDR4 is not huge, but it is measurable. Also, if I can get RGB RAM sticks, I like the effect in the clear side panel R13, cosmetic, yeah but I like it. So overall, I'll take DDR5 at higher speed over DDR4 with lower latency. But, as always, YMMV.

    R10*. R11 was AMD which supported the full XMP range
