15 R4, overheating

Dell recently did an repair service of the motherboard like a month ago (warranty expired on March 17, 2020) and now I noticed that the CPU overheat so quickly and so much. Before the repair, I used to play apex with all the graphics configurations in ultra and using 8GB of the video card and reach 85 degrees. Now I'm only using 2GB and all low specs and it reachs 97 degrees. Even playing lol or upgrading the driver of nvidia graphics reach that heat. I did the large test of SupportAssist and all seems normal but I know my laptop. I know this isn't normal, just the cpu heats, the gpu its working normal. I want to know if Dell can fix this because they recently did the repair and I cant use my laptop normally because of the heat.

First do a good dust cleaning. What program did you use to undervolt? Intels XTU is pretty good. Lots of YouTube videos. Do you have any overclocking profiles set? Maybe turn overclocking off in either bios or command center. With XTU you can set each core. Maybe try turning down each core to 4.3 ghz and run a stress test. Adjust from there. Undervolting and tweaking cores was the only way to keep my temps down.. good luck fighting power limit throttling. If you get you temps down it will help power limit throttling. Also set fan to performance i believe helps some.

Is the CPU fan running? Depending on what Dell did, if they removed the fan and heatsink, maybe fan not plugged in. If they did remove heatsink assembly, hope they repasted.

BeachKid - what was he working on? Why did you call him?  Did he say that he upgraded any firmware or drivers?
