Battery is not charging (AC Adapter unknown)
Dear Users,
I am facing a very annoying problem with my alienware 15 R3. The battery sometimes charges sometimes not and in the latter case I get the warning in object. Is there a way to get rid of this problem? Since the PC has 1 year and 3 moths, I have serious doubts that this is an hardware problem, furthermore the AC adapter seems ok (the led is on and there are no traces of short-circuits). I have got this problem after updating the bios some days ago, could it be a bug by Dell? Meanwhile I have order a new charger (126EUR!), but I am actually really upset.
Any help or previous experience is hightly appreciated,

I'm having the same problem. It's probably because of the BIOS update. I'm trying to figure out a way to downgrade my BIOS to an older version. If that doesn't work, we'll have to wait for another BIOS update which would totally !

sorry for the tremendously late reply, but I was too upset to write anything :) I solved my problem buying a new charger for 120 EUR. I would like to deliver the following message to DELL:
If a customer pay 2k EUR/USD for a PC, the charger CANNOT fail after 1 year (curiously just few months after the expiring date of the ensurance) , especially if the pc is designed for high performance. In my mind I have the idea that this particular component it is design to fail at some point of its life... Naturally, this is just a personal guess, but in this crazy world, you never know!
So guys, if you have the same problem, maybe buy a new one is the more obvious and simplest option!

I have an Alienware 15 with the same issue, buying a new charger didn't solve my problem.

Second, I post this message for Hi-end M6700/6800 users that have trouble with their 240 watt power chargers.
I had some random problems with my power adapter, and more and more and everytime. But this power adapter continues to deliver the power, but not all power... The laptop was slow and the battery wasn't recognized... Strange thing. A power adapter works or not... Not in the middle. I tryed to shake cable (for a bad contact), tryed to make complete cycles with battery.... Etc Etc Etc. But randomly it was working, or not. Inacceptable for me.
So I remembered a case with american synthetiszer (Ensoniq) 30 years ago, with bugs caused by a data-map just on a DSP fixed. There was a "power capacity" that influenced the DSP causing crashes. When asking my father (composit automotive engineer) about the resistance of cable isolation with temp cycles, he said that it's possible that the isolation can be reduce with time and temperature... So, I took a torx 10, unmount the power supply of my M6700 and took a piece of my top cover pack of cigarettes to make an "S" isolation between the 3 cables output (Black and white big, and the little green). My hope was to restore the dielectric field and restore the isolation... And you know what ? It's working perfectly !!!

Since the laptop has been purchased for only 3 months, the on-site technicians were sent to me after calling tech support, and I can tell you what happened next was shocking. After the first on-site repair (replaced the motherboard, etc.) the issue was still present. So they decided to send someone in again today, and after this second repair (replaced both the motherboard and the battery, etc.) my laptop won't turn on anymore!
After wasting an hour of my time on the phone with tech support, they refused to replace the laptop for me and instead insisted on a 3rd repair.
Unfortunately I don't have a solution to your problem, but I doubt that Dell will take any responsibility for their products' failures because all the failures can be explained either as their regulations indicates that you cannot get what you really need so they cannot give it to you or as your bad lucks, and they will just transfer you to different agents over and again without solving any problem.
