Celerra Simulator (uber) networking issue...

I have a brand new install of the Celerra simulator version 2 uber edition.  I am running it on ESX 4.  I have powered it up and ran through the initial configuration script.  I am able to log into the control station.

My configuration:

Network adapter 1 assigned to vlan 80 in ESX which is eth0 (verified via mac) in the control station and cge0 (verified in pci.cfg) in the simulator.

Network adapter 2 assigned to vlan 30 in ESX which is eth1 (verified via mac) in the control station and cge1 (verified in pci.cfg) in the simulator.

I run netconfig -d eth1 and assign the static address to eth1.  I down and up eth1.  After that I lose connection to eth0.  As soon as I re-down eth1 eth0 comes back up.

What am I missing here?

    Hi,

The NIC's eth0 and eth1are used as Internal NIC's and are set to autonegotiate. The eth3 is the NIC used to manage control station. I am not understanding the reason for using them and configuring Vlan on those.

cge devices are the Data Mover ports used for actual networking by creating interfaces.

Thanks for the response.  Now you have me intrigued and confused.  From my investigation it appears that eth0 is network adapter 1 on my esx guest.  I can confirm this in two ways.  First, the uber initialization script sets eth0 to the IP I have for the control station.  Second, if I disable the network adapter on the guest I can no longer ping.
