Unisphere and Celerra Manager Replication information
I came across this issue and thought I'd share. I also have a question hoping that others might have an answer.
Issue:
Could not create a replication session from a Celerra via Unipshere to a Celerra running with Celerra Manager. (not sure if this is just DART versions issues or not).
I was able to create replication sessions via CLI however.
Cause:
When you log into Unisphere (GLOBAL) it logs you in as NASADMIN1. The account NASADMIN1 does not exist on the target array.
Resolution:
EMC provided a solution and then I added my own.
EMC - Log into Unisphere LOCAL. This uses the account NASADMIN.
My solution - Create an account on the target NASADM1 and give it all the same rights.
I asked the tech I was working with about MY option and they saw no problems.
My Question:
I can now create replication sessions between the two arrays. The VDM and File Systems initially replicate. The CIFS server and File share are currently NOT in use so there are no changes being made.
I copied some data into the file share and saw the replication then copy the data. But the replications never continue on a regulare "out of sync for 10 minutes" cycle.
This may be normal for VDM (cifs) and File Systems that havent had any changes... I'm just not sure.
Suggestions?
