Centera SDK support for Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2
Do you provide normal support if Centera SDK 3.2.705 (Patch 5) is installed on Windows Server 2008 R2, i.e. opening a ticket for troubleshooting, analysis or debugging?
If support isn't available just yet, could you share about a plan (e.g roughly Month & Year) Centera SDK will be supporting Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2?
We simply state that we support Windows Server 2008 - we do not restrict this by revision level. So, in effect, it already is covered by the current release notes.
I must clarify Graham's post. At the time, we believed that there were no issues with Windows 2008 Server R2 compatibility. Our QA team has done some initial testing and encountered errors. Therefore, at this time EMC cannot state that the Centera SDK supports Windows 2008 Server R2. We are diligently working on fixing these issues so that we can claim support by Q4 2011.
Please stay tuned for an official announcement and an updated compatibility matrix.
Can you please clarify, what kinds of errors were you encountering, which SDK build (32- or 64-bit) was affected and when the fix is going to be available?
Is this new SDK compatible with all Windows platforms or is it strictly restricted to the precise 3 listed in your post ? The releases notes mention those 3 as a requirement.
