I also tried adding agentID.txt file under /etc/Navisphere and removed Hostidfile.txt from /var/log and then stopped and started naviagent, but that still did not help. /var/log/hostidfile.txt shows a different ip than the one i need it. Is there any other way we could do this?

Yes it work now, when we modify the /etc/hosts file. but as per clariioin proc generator doc, it says to create an agentID.txt file. So its not required to create that file on Redhat Linux. Just want to know.

Yes I did create agentID.txt file per doc. But I don't think its making any difference. all it uses is the /etc/hosts file and creating /var/log/Hostidfile.txt to talk to clariion. May be they need to fix the cx proc gen doc. Right now it works for me and shows correct information on CX.

    Thanks much for your help.

i would follow Clariion proc generator and create agentid.txt file as well as making sure /etc/hosts file contains correct host name.

I still have this problem. I added the IPaddress and also the server name in /etc/hosts file. It did create correct hostid.txt file under /var/log/ , but on the clariion it still shows the wrong IPaddress and lists as hostagent not rechable. Anyone has any ideas of what can be done at this point.

no i haven't. but does restarting the management interface would impact accessing to disks? If there is no impact then I can do that.
