Snapview and Exchange

I have a long standing question that I cannot seem to get a straight answer (even from EMC) regarding snapview and exchange. I can script snapview to snapshot volumes on file servers, no issue. The question is using snapview WITHOUT replication manager or the Exchange intergration piece with Exchange database volume. Is this supported to get a clean "quiesced" copy or snap of the Exchange database? I know that it will complete the operation but will the database be snapped clean as if it was snapped with Replication Manager? I looked at alot of EMC whitepapers but it doesnt clear this up. Thanks

it will be a crash consistent copy, you will need to perform exchange database recovery. I have exchange 2007 running on DMX3 and we are using TimeFinder Exchange integration package with TimeFinder Snap, equivalent of snapview on Clariion.  This packages uses exchange api to put database in "hot" backup mode, creates snapshot, trancates the log and takes database out of "hot" backup mode.
