Current Order Issues/Delays 2020
Hello, I'm a returning Alienware customer. I'm starting this thread to see what's current (2020) with Alienware delays. I see that there are a few others so lets clarify. I ordered an AW M17 (not the new 17) on 1/10 to be delivered by 2/11. It remained in "confirmed status" for 6 days until I checked on it with Chat CS. They noted that there was a part listed as "end of life" and I needed to call order modification to resolve the issue. Which I did. The rep first stated that my order was fine, then said "oh wait, hold on". He then verified what the chat rep stated and proceeded to cancel my order, quote me the exact same build, then reorder. So after 6 days I had to start from scratch with new delivery 2/17. Why didn't Dell let me know there was an issue to begin with? Maybe I would have chosen a different configuration or ordered a more expensive laptop in its place such as the new version.
So now with the new order. I followed up day two with chat CS...just to find out that there is in fact already a delay on my new order. This delay due to a part shortage. No notification from dell of course, and its not listed anywhere in my order status. The only way I figured this out is because of the chat rep. So as a returning customer, it feels like I'm getting the middle finger from Dell for some reason.
*So what's the deal with the constant delays and Dell not being transparent/honest with their customers?
*Why is a laptop and subsequent configurations listed for sale that Dell doesn't have?
*Why cant we simply get up to date information on our orders status? is it really too hard? I understand why it takes a while for a build, but that should be expressed and measures taken to assure the customer of their product right?
Until my order is received, I'll just be following up daily until its shipped. Not a threat, I'm just going to be keeping an eye on it every step of the way. I used to think so highly of Dell...looks like I might be wrong. I'm likely to end up selling my associated company stocks if this is how Dell really treats the rest of their customers we will see how the rest of this purchase experience goes.
