Basic Question:
Does Open Manage Essentials show the hardware and/or software state of the server? Recently had a PSU (dual in server) go out. Would like to notified or see this failure on a screen before walking by and seeing the amber LED.
I downloaded OME 2.4. Is this where I start?

You can certainly use OpenManage Essentials to notify you of hardware failures, this pdf will guide you through configuring the email alerts in OpenManage Essentials.
