I have a question regarding what is displayed in the EqualLogic GUI. Let's say for simplicity sake I have a 100gb (thick) volume and I put 80gb worth of vms on it. So on the GUI it says in-use space 80gb, free space 20gb. Let's say I move a bunch of VMs so that there is only 30gb worth of data on that volume.
My question is will the GUI change to reflect this change? Currently it is not and someone told me that it will not change to reflect this because the blocks have been written (or something to that affect). I just can't see why this would be true? Why wouldn't it adjust, and how would you go about really determining how much space you have free?
Thanks.
