Howto use ASM/ME with ASM/VE
Hello,
we want to replicate our productive virtual machines.
When setup smart copiy replication in asm/ve I can include volumes accessed by guest iscsi initiators.
Should I just use this? Or should I disable it and use ASM/ME for the guest volumes?
Currently its just sql and ntfs but in the future also exchange.
Is there a whitepaper how to configure booth systems together, how to schedule the replications (first asm/me or first asm/ve)?

I'm sorry currently, there is no white paper on this combination that I am aware of.
If the Guest connected volume is 'simple'. I.e. Fileshare, Sharepoint, etc. Then using the option in ASM/VE would allow you to take care of both the VMFS & guest connected snapshots in one step.
However, if you wish to leverage the advanced features of ASM/ME, like Exchange or SQL integration, then you should schedule those snapshot through ASM/ME only.
Another benefit of splitting them is you are likely to need more frequent snapshots for data volumes than VMFS volumes. Especially if the VMFS volume only house the OS drives.
I hope this helps answer your question.
