Charging indicator light doesn't come on
I just got a new battery for my Dell Inspiron 5593 laptop, but it will not charge. I plug in the adapter and the indicator light next to the port briefly comes on then goes off. If I keep it plugged in, the charge on the battery pretty much stays where it is at, around 55%, which I assume is the charge left from the new battery itself. It is like it is holding the charge, but it won't actually charge it. Why won't the indicator light come on and charge the battery?

Check the LED indicator on the AC adapterReset the AC adapter by following these steps: Unplug the AC adapter from the wall outlet for 15 seconds. Unplug the AC adapter from the laptop. Plug the AC adapter into a known-good wall outlet.

Go into setup (F2 at powerup). Does the system identify the AC adapter with its power rating, or does it show "AC adapter unknown"?
