own a Inspiron 14 5410 2 in 1. laptop is just 3 years old. Now I am experiencing current leakage on the aluminium body - tingling and sometimes slight stinging sensation. This is quite uncomfortable. HOw do I address this? When I use a 45 watt adapter, with less with Input 1.3A, and output 2.31A I dont feel the leakage. I believe this is not ideal in the long run. My origianl DELL adapter is 60W woth Input 1.5A and output 3.34A.

Hi
There are countries where a 2 pin non-earthed distribution can be the norm, so are you resident in such a country?
Either way you should not use that adapter.

@anne_droid I am in Malaysia, and we use 3 pin plugs - earthed. Tq

This tingling or stinging sensation on the aluminum body is usually caused by grounding (earthing) issues, not the laptop’s age. It commonly happens when the charger or wall socket is not properly earthed.
Since the issue is noticeable with the original 60W Dell adapter and much less with the 45W adapter, it strongly suggests a grounding or charger insulation problem, not a fault in the laptop itself.
What you should do:
Use a properly earthed wall socket (very important).
Try another original Dell 60W charger to rule out a faulty adapter.
Avoid long-term use of the 45W adapter, as it is underpowered for your laptop.
If the issue persists, have an electrician check the earthing of your power outlet.
Once proper grounding is ensured, the leakage sensation should disappear.
