Fan Malfunction Error Message

When booting up my Inspiron 16 Plus, I receive an error message: "Fan failed to respond correctly. (Previous fan) Fan Malfunction." The error code is 2000-0712. The Validation code is 122435. This is on the hardware scan portion. There's a button to click to continue, so I do and it works fine. I talked with a Dell Tech and after more than a half-hour of him taking control of my computer and running all sorts of tests, he either hung up on me or we were disconnected, and he didn't call back. As far as I know, the fan is working okay--it comes on every now and then but always goes off. But, while the computer is still under warranty, I'd like to get the problem resolved. Any clues?

You'll need to contact Dell again. You need to get this resolved while the laptop is still under warranty.

In the meantime, run Dell Diagnostics:
Immediately after pressing the power button to turn on the laptop (or after clicking the Reboot command), press F12 repeatedly to enter the One Time Boot Menu, select Diagnostics and press Enter. The Dell Diagnostics will test all your hardware.

Thanks for the advice. The tech on the other end ran all sorts of diagnostics. Problem is that he never told me what he found or what I should do! However, I just noted that on booting up today, everything tested out fine. But yesterday it didn't. Go figure. Thanks anyway!
