This is what I put together and could use some help verifying my statements: and for those that I have question marks for please provide your input.
• Type = Indicates what type of quota it is (Which we mainly only have directory quotas set.) • Applies to = ?
the specifc user/group name, n/a to directory quotas
• Path = the absolute path for the quota. • Snap = Tells you if Snapshots are counted against the quota. ?????
yes (as set by admin on quota creation)
• Hard Limit Allocation = Admin defined Value • Soft Limit Allocation = Admin defined Value • Advisory Allocation = Admin defined Value • Grace = Represents the number of days before the soft limit restrictions are applied to the share. • # of Files = is the number of files within the location. • Usage With Overhead = Represents the data size on disk with any data protection and any metadata in support of storing that files. • Usage W/O Overhead = Represents the data size on the disk without any overhead calculated against the data’s use of any data protection and metadata.
• Over = Represents that the quote for this policy has been exceeded. ????
yes
• Container = ?
true/false as set by admin, true: df shows hard limit as 100% or “volume size”.
• Linked = ?
e.g. any “specific” user governed by “default-user” quota type. (joeuser "linked" to default-user)
If I have snaps set to TRUE, will that over head show up withing the "Usage With Overhead"? Or is "Usage With Overhead" only going to show disk protection overhead?
Again, so I can make sure I understand what you are saying. The column "Usage With Overhead" WILL NOT indicate snapshot overhead that a particular (Directory, User, or or Group) quota takes up? This column will ONLY indicate how much space on the disk the files take up based on the disk protection prior set on the cluster... plus the metadata supporting the data storage?
