Dell Latitude 5540 Touchpad Click Problem
I have problem with Dell Latitude 5540 touchpad click. My my mouse won't click at all. It will still move around the cursor on screen, and it will still hover over clickable items properly, but, it refuses to click them. This is true for both the touchpad and the actual buttons themselves. Initially right click wasn't working but now it wouldn't click at all although moves around, not sure how to fix this. Any ideas?

Boot the the computer and at boot hit F12 and run diagnostics on the touchpad. If you are unable to run diags then download the diagnostics iso from the Support drivers page and create a bootable diagnostics cd. Hit F12 and choose boot to cd and run diags on the touchpad. If it fails in diags then you will need to buy another palmrest. One last ditch effort would be to reseat the touchpad cable.
