    Hi,

I try to reboot from BIOS using CD2, but it cannot be read. Then, I try to reboot from CD1, where I choose to repair the system. But, I will stand the risk of loosing all the datas that I have so far. I did try to chang the setting in the Network card, but DHCP daemon was failed to lauch when I 'finish' the setting. Any suggestion?

    Thanks!

Sorry but i don't understand if you wanna wipe out your linux install and restore xp or maybe restore your linux install. I think you should try to use shell console and run as root "ifconfig" to see any network adapter and his configuration. If it doesn't show any other than loopback "lo0 or lo" the network card it isn´t configured yet. Try to set up a static ip on range of your router. If it fails put here output from "ifconfig" and run command "lspci" to see if the card is detected fine. hope it helps

Hi, I'm just trying to fix my internet connection setting. Now that I'm sure that my internet connection worked well because I'm able to chat using skype. But mozila firefox is not. According to it error messages, it maybe due to the firewall or proxy settings. I have turn off the proxy and change to 'direct connection upon cable plug-in'. What could be the cause now?

Ok, have you tried to ping elsewere? have you install some proxy or firewall? if it's true you should configure it using yast. Please give more info so we could help you, thanks.

From Yast, Network Services, Proxy, Proxy Configuration, the 'Enable Proxy' is NOT selected.

How do I check for firewall?

Previously, I have used this machine in an institute where the IT ppl help me to set t up under proxy connection.
