Alienware 17
Well, first time poster here as i just found this site.
I have had my Alienware laptop for about a year now and have had a couple of issues.
"USB hub power exceeded"
Also, I have been getting a power adapter error message. To the point where the actual charger cable just does not work anymore and I have found an older cable and am using it. It is a 90W whereas the one that came with my Alienware laptop uses a 180w adapter
The AC power adapter type cannot be determined. You system will operate slower and the battery will not charge.
Please connect a Dell 180W AC adapter or higher for best system operation. To resolve this issue, try to reseat the power adapter."
Anybody have any suggestions? I have purchased numerous computers through Dell in the past but this is the very first time I have come across this error message.thanks

What makes me think it will work? The fact that it is working with the 90W makes me think that. It was just a gamblebecause the cord Dell provided wasn't working. I had my old laptop still and just wanted to see.
I still get the mIsmatched power upon reboot so i want to get a 180W or higher cord as soon as possible.
Why would you that question in that way? Just curious as to where your mindset is at. Whether you are trying to be helpful or just a jerk

Your Alienware laptop requires 180W of power to run.
What makes you think that supplying it with 50% will allow it to work???????
