Alienware Overclocking

Hey Guys,

This is a question to all of those with a Alienware Area 51/Auruora with a Intel i7 920 CPU:

Have you guys overclocked the CPU to Level 1 (3.2GHz) or left the clock speeds the same?

I'm wondering because I've overclocked my CPU to level 1 and adjust the BLCLK to 167. This gets me a good 3.35 GHz speed and 1336Mhz for my ram which is perfect for now (I have 1333Mhz modules).

I've also went in today and enabled Turbo mode which will give you an extra multiplier from the standard 20x. This has now increased my CPU speed to 3.5Ghz which is about where I would like my speed to be if possible.

Does anyone know if the steps I have taken will be detrimental to the CPU? I've run Prime 95 and it's pretty stable for the most part as well as temps are in the low 70's.

Please let me know what your thoughts are or if you guys have customized your overclocks differently.

Thanks,

Prolonged overclocking will reduce the operating life of your system components.
