Aurora R4 - Front Panel/Bezel Not Closing
Hello Everyone,
I just received my Aurora R4 and I can't close the front panel using the Alienhead logo. I also can't seem to close the front panel manually when the computer is turned off. Does anyone have any advice regarding this?
Thanks for the help!

My R4 opens with the Alienhead, but has to be manually pulled up and closed. My neighbor who has a R4 just like mine and has to do the same thing so am thinking that's the way it's designed. Next time I turn my computer off ai will check that part.

You can send me a PM with your service tag, phone number, add the link for this thread I can help you out.
It's a R4 Aurora without the ALX.
Just as an update, Dell sent a technician to my house to replace the front panel. The panel now closes, but the power button is loose and now requires several touches at the right angle to turn on. One problem replaced with another by the looks of it, I think I may need to phone in for another repair.

The front bezel door should go down when you push the AW logo but you have to lift it yourself when you want to close it.
Is it not sticking when you try to close it and the latch isn't catching it and it falls back down?
I just went through that, the only thing you can do if it falls down is have them send you a new front bezel assembly and have it put on.
Keep in mind ... if the send you one, make sure they are sending you correct on. One for your body, ALX or no ALX.

I am currently having this issue and I just got it in yesterday. I have an Aurora R4 ALX. I pressed the button once and then later when I tried to put it back up, it didn't stick. Like I said, I just got it in yesterday so now I have to jerryrig it so that the light isn't on all the time.

Call Alienware support at 1-866-287-6727 and give them your information such as the tag# and tell them the problem you are having. They will either send a tech out to replace it or send you the parts. When they have sent me parts they also include detailed instructions on how to replace the defective part.
