i tried to buy myself an asus motherboard forgot what it's called but they were going to charge me almost $2000 usd for that mother board, $2000 for 980x i7 extreme cpu, $3000 for dual ati 5970 gpu  :( how is building myself the best computer cheaper than alienware?

Dont worry i am not dell's lip service but i feel sorry for dell only because i know how business operates. They out source technical work this is a formula for disaster and bad reputation. Hence in my case Dell suffered because of the dodgy outsourcing.

i feel for everyone because i know first hand what's it's like to get ripped off. I was out of pocket $20,000 USD because Alienware Australia 2009 ran off refused to fix my computers because i had it for 2 weeks.

Anyway i am just seeing things differently but i know Dell failed because of outsourcing. It's a terrible mistake i hope they will have their own workshop.

It's so easy for dodgy people to make false CV/Resume then apply for jobs.

I mean how many dodgy geeks think to themselves "OK i need a job I can't survive just sitting here playing WoW for 10 years" "lets make a fake Resume and become a techie"? I bet most of these dodgy technies are WoW players lol.

It's so easy to install water cooling now.

I think i can build one myself really easily now.

 LOL I just helped my neighbor building a pc. He bought all the parts and let me put them together. I cant believe how easy it is not in 2011 to build pc.

i used to be so scared of water cooling but the corsair H70 was so easy omg i can now build my own pc hhehehehe. Adding CPU to mother board then adding water cooling ontop of it was so easy :). Next i put the rams in then then video card then i shoved the whole thing inside a corsair tower case. Then i put in the power supply, next i add blue ray drive then hard drive then plugged all the power cables to the Mother board and PCIE video cards (SLI system).

Lastly all i did was put all the wirings to reset/power/HDD Led all that took me so very short time.

Now i know how to build a system omg i cant believe how easy it is now in 2011. Finally i could build my own rig :)

Grats! ! !   Now,   When he can't install a driver he will be calling you.   When a part fails he will be calling you.   When it wont boot next week he will be calling you.   When it gets a BSOD the week after that he will be calling you.    When he picks up a virus and has to reinstall the OS he will be calling you.   When it overheats he will be calling you.   When it makes a funny noise he will be calling you.   When the littlest of things happen...he will be calling you.   Tell him you charge $50 an hour for phone support and $65 ( $150 if you wear a bikini ) an hour for in home service....that will fix it.

OMG you're so right he came over to our house at 7AM telling me he has problem with his computer "The websites are really slow" !!!! omg that's his internet :( but he thinks it's my fault.

Warranty is the main reason why i hate building my own pc. 2 to 3 weeks down time is a no no for me. That's why  i had always bought from Dell they replaced my dead motherboard within 2 hours. I hope my mother board and cpy  are not going to die on me because of that incompetent technician that was at my house.

I rang dell yesterday to get me a new technician with some thermal to fix what the other guy didn't do. Guess what? After I spoke to Dell that same idiot technician rang me today telling me he is on his way to my house even after Dell had promised  to send me their senior technician.

Yeah sending us refurb part as new really cheesed me off. I was a victim, i bought this ALX Aurora brand new a few months ago Dell  sent me a refurbished one :(

If i didnt see all the dents and scratches on the computer i would have never known it was refurb.

Well I was really looking forward to building my new gaming pc but it looks like i will have to wait 3 months :) i dont really mind i want it to be the most powerful gaming pc in Hawaii :).

Anyone here from Hawaii? The computer shops here really stinks the parts they charge are horrendous (Everything Computers Are SO EXPENSIVE IN Hawaii)

Dell phone support is second to none. Infact I rate Dell phone support as up there with Apple. Dell is the only company that will call me and follow up making sure I am aware when the parts and the technicians are coming over. I have never had any support like this with any other product. This is the main reason why I am still buying Dell product. Most importantly they are very polite and courteous on the phone.

I agree with starmage on this one. All computers can have problems and break etc. But how my case was handled by tech support was terrible. By watching the videos you posted the onsite technician you received was not qualified or just did not care about your computer. This is not an isolated incident. I have a way worse story with my technician. I will be taking my business elsewhere and if something breaks I fix it myself. The warranty means nothing to me now, sadly that was the only reason I bought it instead of building one :(. I never owned a Pre-Dell but I dont know how it could be worse. Uncertified on site "part swappers" plus outsourced tech support. No thanks. I was a Dell fan for years too, when they economy took a hit so did the quality.
