m11x r1 wwan driver issues
Hey, I installed a new hdd into my m11x, I got all my drivers installed, everything is up and running except for the wwan card. Everytime I try to install the drivers for it, it says "incompatable platform" and then doesnt install.
Any ideas?
I am using the drivers from dells page for my computer, but they wont install.

Yes I am sure. Its aparently pretty common issue with this card. I think I figured it out though.
The dell 5620 I have is not from a alienware, but rather its from another dell laptop. So the card it self is locked to that model. While my m11x picks it up in the device manager, it wont install drivers. (incompatable platform error)
The way I got around this the first time (2 years ago when I installed my first hdd in this thing) was to tape up pin 20. Pin 20 is the identifier pin for this card. With out the pin making contact the computer doesnt know the card is not ment for a alienware computer.
So, tonight I will be taping off pin 20 and installing the drivers again.
