Attune error message

I get this error message when my ME opens up. "Attune_ce has caused an error in
KRNL 386.exe Attune will now close. If you continue to have problems try restarting
your computer." It happens each time I turn the computer on. This Pent 111 L800r
is just a week old. I'm new at computers, can someone tell me how to fix this?

Having seen a number of posts relating to recent Attune errors, I downloaded and installed it on my system to see how it would perform. To date I have received only two errors, both of which were "Attneng executed an invalid instruction in krnl386.exe." If you click the OK button that error message will go away and nothing untoward will happen with your system. This currrent version of Attune is much more stable than the first version I tested (for the same reason--reported errors), but its value is questionable. The first two Intelligrams I received told me (1) that Christmas was an active time for viruses and that I should update my virus signatures (DUH!) and (2) that it was a good idea to download the critical updates from Windows Update (DUH! twice).

My conclusion is that Attune is of minimal value, but in its present incarnation isn't as horrible as it was. The krnl386.exe error is basically informational and doesn't adversely affect the operation of your computer.

Best advice is to uninstall Attune and loose it forever! Causes many more problems than it fixes.
