Deleting incorrect website dropdown screen names?
Sorry, I couldn't think of a shorter title to my question.
On sites where I enter a screen name and password, occasionally I've entered incorrect ones. Eventually, of course, I get it right. However, from that point forward as soon as I begin typing in the name a dropdown box appears listing all previous failed attempts, as well as the correct one. Is there any way to delete the wrong ones? I've tried right-clicking, but that doesn't do anything. Deleting cookies doesn't seem to have any effect, either. It's not a real problem, except that it's a constant reminder that my typing skills aren't quite up to snuff.

Open up IE > Tools > Internet Options > Content tab > Autocomplete > Clear passwords. That should also reset the usernames to none.

That shouldn't be a problem though if you DO have the passwords and it's really bugging you.
Personally, I'd save the bookmark TOGETHER with the username and passwords, taking me directly to the members area (not for most web email accounts though), e.g. http://username:password@members.website.com/main.html

Tools | Internet Options | Clear History will get rid of all addresses in the drop down list WITHOUT affecting passwords you have set. You can also adjust the number of days you want IE to retain these addresses before deleting them.
There is no way that I am aware of to selectively delete addresses.

If you just want to delete the wrong entries in the drop down box simply highlight the entry you want to delete and press the "delete" key. This will remove the erroneous entry and leave the correct ones.
