Desktop won't power up!!!!

Help! I shutdown my Dimension 4600 Series, Intel Pentium 4 Processor at 2.4GHz on tuesday night and now i can't power it up. Nothing happens. Tried changing the power cables, connecting directly to the power supply ... but nothing. Has anybody seen similar behavior? It's crazy because my warranty appears to have expired a month ago...Thanks in advance...

    ak4600,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Plug the cpu directly into a wall socket by passing any surge protectors or power strips to see if the system will then power up.

That's funny, mine did the same thing on Monday. My warranty also ran out last month. I figured the power supply went bad. Having trouble finding the proper one to replace it with.

    egg181.

The 4600 has an open back and will accept any standard ATX power supply.

    ak4600.

What is the sequence of the diagnostic LEDs at the back of the case and is the LED in the power button, green, solid amber or flashing amber?
