Dimension E510 and Dual Core Processor

I have a Dell Dimension E510 with a single core 3 Ghz Pentium processor.  My question is can I can replace the CPU with a dual core processor?  I know that the slot is the same and the pins are the same but will the computer handle a dual core processor?  I figure I'll probably need to do a bios update at the minimum for computer to work properly with it.

I mean...it's not a dog for a machine but I would like to upgrade it so I can play assasins creed which requires the Dual Core processor.  I'm planning on also upgrading the video card and the memory to 4Gb.  Any idea if the CPU chip upgrade is possible?  If not, I may just build a new system.

A friend of mine thinks I can upgrade the CPU and it should work fine...in theory.  :emotion-4:

Thanks.

If you're asking about a Core2 Duo or a Pentium Dual Core (Core-based) then no - this system does not support these CPUs.
