Dimension E510 problem
I have a E510 about 2 years old. When I go to boot the computer it has the normal vista bar that moves from left to right but then the screen turns black and my computer screen goes to standby mode. I can't get passed that screen. I've tried to reformat a bunch of times but it still gets stuck at the same place. any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

one way i can get past the lock-up part is by force shutdown w/ power button
start up next time in SAFE MODE.
then if you can get through to your desktop, RESTART from start menu
and it lets me get to my original working desktop with proper settings.
(this works for me on a singular everytime basis *only temporary fix* because after a proper "shutdown" from there it freeze up after the windows logo w/ blank black screen AGAIN the next time i reboot. so... on with the cycle. )
freeze up on boot>force shutdown>reboot in safe mode>restart> YAY.... for now... then upon shutdown>freeze up next time i try to use my comp again.
on peculiar thing i found was if put into "HIBERNATE" i can start up again. so... for now that is how i cool off my comp at night.
