Fatal Exception help needed

I continually get Fatal Exception OE 0028:C001539A many, many times each day when on line. I have a cable modem (Road Runner) and IE 5.1. I use McAfee Active Shield and update it regularly. I also have Zone Alarm. In Feb. I went so far as to reformat my hard drive which only made it somewhat better. Does anyone have any ideas about how to fix this?

    You may be having a conflict with McAfee and Zone Alarm. Try disabling McAfee for a while and see if that resolves the conflict.

    I uninstalled McAfee Active Shield yesterday afternoon. Since then, not one single Fatal Exception. Keeping my fingers crossed....but this is the best it has been in many, many weeks.
