How do I backup?
On my 4600 the dell support people told me to that my error was probably an operating error and to make a backup of my hard drive? The instructions they left was to go to start menu--to programs meanu--to accessories ment--to system tools---to backup. I have no backup to select on my system tools menu. So any suggestions from anybody?

Sounds like the backup utility did not come pre-installed. Go figure, neither does HP/Compaq.... But, you could try to do revert back to a restore point. That is in Start > Programs > Accessory > System Tools > System Restore. You should be able to restore the computer to when you got it.ceri sheeran

Hi,
Backup is not installed by default with XP home
It can be installed off the CD

You also need to look at what media you are going to back up onto, choice is
Another hard disk, internal or external
Networked hard disk
CDR / RW
DVDR /RW
Tape drive
Zip or LS120 disks
Removable media devices, cartridges
A very, very large pile of floppy disks
