Keyboard Stops Functioning

I recently purchased an XPS 410.  My keyboard stops functioning when the system recovers from the standby mode. I have to reboot the computer to get the keyboard to work properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

if this is happening in windows vista, what you have to do is this, unplug the USB cable from the PC and then reinsert it, this will 'update' the driver pool which should allow the keyboard to work. there is a known flaw in vista which for some reason does not update device drivers.

let me know how it goes and if it works.

Thank you for your input.  I have Windows XP Pro.  Any thoughts on that platform?  Thanks.

Hi, I do have Windows XP  SP2.  The article you directed me to was great.  I have done an extensive search  to try and find the specific  Microsoft HotFIX ipdate that I can download  to fix the problem, but can't find it..

I do appreciate all your help.  Maybe you might have some luck finding the specific update?  Thanks, alot.

I am also having this problem in Vista 32.  I am no longer using standby mode.  I hope microsoft or whoever gets their act together and fixes this.  It seems to have been inherited from XP.
